1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember preferences and understand how pages are used.
2. How we use cookies
Hazel Line Analytics uses a minimal set of cookies. We do not use cookies for advertising retargeting on this site.
3. Cookie table
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| hla_cookie_consent | Stores your cookie banner choice (accept or reject) | 1 year | Hazel Line Analytics (localStorage) |
| _ga | Analytics — distinguishes visitors (only if you accept cookies) | 2 years | Google Analytics (third party, if enabled) |
| _ga_* | Analytics — session state (only if you accept cookies) | 2 years | Google Analytics (third party, if enabled) |
4. Essential vs. analytics
Essential: the consent preference stored in localStorage under hla_cookie_consent. This remembers your banner choice so it is not shown on every visit.
Analytics (optional): if you click Accept on the cookie banner, we may load privacy-conscious analytics to understand which forecast topics visitors read. If you click Reject, analytics cookies are not set.
5. Managing cookies
You can change your choice by clearing site data in your browser and revisiting the site — the banner will appear again. Most browsers also allow you to block or delete cookies in settings.
6. Third-party cookies
Third-party analytics providers may set their own cookies when enabled. Their use is governed by their respective policies. We select providers that support anonymized IP where available.
7. Impact of disabling
Rejecting analytics cookies does not affect site functionality, form submission, or your ability to contact us. Disabling essential consent storage will cause the banner to reappear on each visit.
